Derrick did not like the water at all!! I love how Emma is trying to comfort him!! He was much happier just chillin in the chair!! 

Seashells and Sandcastles!

Here are the girls looking for seashells and building sand castles! Emma would fill up a bucket with sand and then dump it out and call it a castle! She thought that was great fun! 

Derrick's sand adventure!!

When it was time for Jon and I to switch kids I came back to find Derrick in the sand!! He finally started warming up to it after a while! But then he started rubbing his face, so I got him rinsed off!! He was a little hestitant to say the least!! 

More beach fun...

The 2nd time we went to the beach Emma got knocked over by the first wave the hit her so she wouldn't go near the water again! So the kids played in the sand...they buried Gwen and made a slide! Emma asked me today if we could go to the beach! She had a blast!! 

Shopping in L.A. and Hollywood!

Here are the kids and a family shot of our day in L.A. We went there to have good food and fun...the food wasn't as good as I remember it and the fun part was the 3 1/2 hour drive back to San Diego with the terrible traffic!! But, Emma got a new Belle and Beast which made her happy! (I wanted to take her picture by Snow White's star but it was really crowded by there so I just took her picture playing with her Beast. I didn't even realize the we were by Sting's star until I loaded the pictures on the computer! Oh well! :) ) We had a really fun trip, it was nice to get away for a while! 

Just the kids!

Here are just a few pictures I took the other day ! I'm not sure what Emma is doing in the first picture! She is becoming quite the crazy girl! :) We are all feeling better after being sick! Jon and I didn't get it quite as bad as the kids, but it still wasn't fun! Today is really the first day in a week that Derrick has been back to his old self! We are definately blessed with happy kids! :) 

Taking after mom...

Emma has been really into doing hair lately! She was so distraught the other day when I didn't give the kids baths because we all weren't feeling well! So we just stayed in our p.j.'s and had messy hair! By the end of the day she insisted that I put her hair in "ponies"! Yesterday she kept chasing Derrick saying, "I do your hair Derrick!!"! He let her for a few seconds before he crawled away or just started crying! 

Princess Emma!

I bought Emma this "Barbie Princess" dress a few weeks ago because the Cinderella dress I bought her for Christmas was too small! Do I even need to say how much she loves it?! The downfall is that it gets glitter all over the floor! So sometimes Derrick has an extra little sparkle to his skin! In the bottom picture she is showing off her new nightgown that dad bought her! Princess, of course! She thought it was so neat that she could wear a "dress" to bed as pajamas! I personally like the knee socks that we made her wear with it to keep her legs somewhat warm through the night! :) 

Cousins!

I took this picture about a month ago and meant to post it, but forgot! I just thought it was so cute! They sure love each other and love playing together! Emma asks to go see "Wen and Manny" just about everyday!! 

SNOW and another game of Where's Derrick!!

Yes that is SNOW in our flower bed in our backyard!! I could not believe it when I took the trash out yesterday morning and something white caught my eye!! It was pretty cold here for a few days! And another game of Where's Derrick...I came out from putting Emma down for a nap and I couldn't find Derrick! I looked all of his usual places and of course he was being silent! I noticed that the salon door was open so I kind of freaked out thinking he was in there getting hair all over him! But, he wasn't in there! I turned around to walk out of the salon and there he was just sitting under the piano smiling at me!! He played a pretty good game of hide and seek! 

Silly Kids!

Just a few pictures of the kids! They think it is great fun to splash each other (and even more fun to splash mom) in the bath! Emma had braids in her hair the other night and thought it looked so silly when we took them out! I'm not sure what was going on with Derrick and the stroller...I think he was trying to get in it laying down! 

Fun outdoors!

Well, after talking to Debi I realized how lucky we are to have the weather we are having! The kids love being outside and when it's only 65 degrees...I figure I better let them get their fun out before 110 degrees comes! We bought them a swing a few weeks ago and they both love it! Emma pushes Derrick in it and they just laugh and giggle! She did learn really quick that she has to get out of the way of the swing after she pushes Derrick or she will get knocked in the head! Emma also loves playing with her Cinderella ball and running fast! She always says "I go fast!" and waits for me to say "ready, set, GO!" then she runs from one end of the yard to the other! They are both growing up so fast! Derrick is actually crawling correctly on his knees now (but still has no teeth!) and Emma's vocabulary increases daily! Her new thing is to tell me how much she loves things! This morning it was "Mom, I just love pancakes chocolate!". Jon made us a special treat for breakfast...chocolate chip pancakes! I should have taken a picture of Emma's face after she got done eating them! She says things backwards a lot when she is trying to descibe something, but I guess it's all part of the learning process!!
