Getting a taste!

Here's Emma after licking the spatula of cake batter! She could hardly wait to eat the real thing!

Cinderella's Castle!

What princess would be complete without her castle! Grandma Clark did a wonderful job on Cinderella's castle cake! After about 3-4 hours just decorating alone, it looked beautiful! Emma was so excited when she saw it! And, it tasted pretty good too! (THANK YOU MOM!!!)

Play time...

The kids played and played until everyone went home and then Emma played some more! Derrick had to play what the girls were playing with, of course! Emma didn't end up falling asleep until after 11 p.m.!!! Too much excitement for our big 3 year old!

Loves!

I just loved this picture of the kids giving each other "loves"! They really do get along well, even though I have to remind Emma to not yell at Derrick when he does something she doesn't like! Derrick has quickly learned the word "NO"! He hears it from Emma all day long! But, we are working on that and they love to play together! Derrick is learning new words still imitates everything he sees! Yesterday he picked up one of Emma's purses and put it on his arm and looked at me and said "Bye-Bye" and walked out of the room! I think he's seen that a few times!

Dance Class!

Emma's dance class officially started at the beginning of August! She has gone 2 times now and absolutely loves it! It is a tap, ballet, tumbling combo class so she is introduced to a little of everything! It's so funny to watch 2 and 3 year olds trying to learn basic dance moves! The teacher is really starting with simple steps like tapping your toe and walking on tip-toes with hands above the head! You would think that is not so hard, but for that age group...you'd be surprised! They all want to bend their knee when it should be straight and flap their arms around when they should be still above their heads! It is really quite cute to watch! Derrick has been doing pretty well sitting in his stroller for the hour that we are at class too! I just take snacks and books and he stays content! I hope that lasts! A few weeks ago Emma was so excited that she learned about temples in nursery at church! She made a crown that said, " I want to go to the Temple"! She wore it all day on Sunday! We've been talking about temples lately and she was so excited when we drove past the Mesa temple the other day! I put in a recent picture of Derrick! He is so hard to take a picture of because everytime he sees the camera he runs for me and all I get are close up shots! Oh well! This one turned out pretty cute!

All Derrick!!

Here's our boy!! He's getting so big and is starting to imitate everything people do, especially things that Emma does!! The first picture is of him "hiding" under a kitchen chair playing with one of Emma's crowns! The next 2 are the classic "kid asleep in the high chair"! Emma never did that and this is the first time Derrick has done it! I was getting ready while the kids were eating lunch and came out to check on them and Emma whispered, "Mom, SHHH!! Derrick is sleeping!" Poor tired guy! At least he finished his lunch before he fell asleep! He has also discovered baby dolls! Boys can play with dolls right?!

Dance Camp!

The time was finally here for Emma to go to Dance Camp! She has been asking for weeks when she could go! She was so excited and had a lot of fun! Each class was 1 1/2 hours and her class only had 3 girls in it, so they got a lot of individual attention! The camp theme was "Adventures in Fairytales". Each day was a different themed class and they colored pictures or made crafts to go along with the theme! She starts her regular classes August 1st. I know now that she will love it!!

Pinocchio!

The first day of camp was Pinoccio day! They were dressed as puppets! I am really suprised that Emma wasn't scared of the "strings"! She is a little strange about stuff like that! :) She had fun, but really didn't get any of the dance! But, it was her very first time! Hopefully she will improve with regular classes!!

Pocahontas!

The second day was Pocahontas Day! It was so cute, they had little canoes that were part of the dance to "Just Around the Riverbend"! She did the best this day as far as picking up the dance moves and doing what she was suppose to be doing! Notice her tongue hanging out of her mouth...her signature move! Jon and I keep trying to tell her to keep it in her mouth and just smile! Oh well!

Princess Jasmine!

This day they did a dance to "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin! The costumes were all way too big for Emma so she kept pulling the pants up and taking off the vest and veil! She was kind of zoning through the dance, but still had fun!

Puppy Dogs!

The last day of dance was puppy dog day! The one day that Emma could actually dance with her tongue hanging out of her mouth and it was ok!

Happy 4th of July!!

Here are some pictures from the 4th! We had a pretty fun day! Emma was excited to go see firetrucks (fireworks!)!! We painted her toes (Aunt Annie should be proud!) and went over to cousins house and had dinner then went to a park to try and see the Gilbert show! Unfortunately, there were giant trees blocking the way of the show! I finally put Emma on the very top of Jami and Crystal's HUGE truck and then she could see! You can see by her expression...she LOVED it!!
