A Visit with Santa!

Yesterday Mila and Emma had a special vistor...SANTA!!! Hospice set it up to have him come and visit Mila and Andrea invited Emma to be there as well! Jon took her because I was busy with clients, but he said they had a good time! They sang Jingle Bells (Emma's favortie Christmas song) and got presents! When Jon and Emma got home Emma came running into the salon saying "Mama, Santa...presents..Dora!" Santa brought her a new Dora doll and a Dora water color book! She loves them both! Merry Christmas!

Derrick's treat and Emma's feet!

Derrick has discovered how good the Gerber Biter Biscuits are! He STILL has no teeth and just nawed on it until it was so soggy and slimy he couldn't hold onto it anymore! GROSS!! Those get so messy, but babies love them! Emma thought it was fun the other day to try and get into Derrick's walker! I was in the other room when I heard her yell, "Mama, HELP!" I ran out there to find her feet straight up in the air, stuck in the walker! She is becoming quite the 2 year old, but we still love her! :)
In other news, Jon's surgery is tomorrow! I'm sure things will go fine and hopefully his recovery will be speedy! We will let you all know how it goes! Posted by Picasa

"You Barbie Princess!"

And so it begins! I was on the phone with my friend this morning when I heard Emma saying, "You Barbie Princess!". I looked over and found her putting a crown on Derrick's head and telling him he was a princess! I absolutely love the look on Derrick's face...kind of like"What are you doing to me?!". Then I think he gives up and realizes this is only the beginning!!! Posted by Picasa

Thanksgiving in Young!

We went to Young to see Grandpa and Grandma Brenay this year for Thanksgiving and the kids had a blast! We met up with Jim, Melissa, Cassandra, Jenny, and Ian. It was good to see them after two years. Emma loved riding the "varoom varoom" with Grandma and Grandpa and could have spent the whole trip picking up rocks. On the other hand, Derrick had a little too much influence from Mark "Brokeback" Brenay and really took to the cowboy way of life! The result of the trip? Emma crashed out on the way home; probably dreaming of rocks, ducks attacking her, and goats that say "hahhh." By the way, Crystal said I need to come clean with my authorship of this blog...so there you have it...I wrote and stand by it! Posted by Picasa

Sorry!

Please excuse the many typing errors I made on my last blogs! I didn't spell check or really read over them until they were posted and realized I had several errors!! As Emma would say, "Silly mama!"

Fancy slippers!

Anut Jeni sent Emma some slippers a long time ago that just now fit her! And she LOVES them! She wears them all the time! She wanted to wear them to church instead of her church shoes, but I finally convinced her otherwise! So, thanks Jeni!

Where's Derrick?!

Derrick has finally figured out a way to get around! No, he doesn't crawl or scoot yet, he rolls! I found him in on the tile the other day, which he can scoot backwards on really well! Since then I have found him in strange places! He always manages to get stuck somewhere! I couldn't find him for a few seconds the other day! He was being very quiet and had rolled over into the corner under him jumper!! He alos loves to kick his legs and gets them stuck in the slats in his crib! So I have started taking pictures of all the places he gets stuck and here are a few!!

Christmas shopping!

I was looking through the Sunday adds and Emma wanted to look. I gave her the toy add and she immediately started telling me things what she wanted..."I have it!" It should be a fun Christmas with her this year! I just can't decide what to buy her! But, she is pretty easy to please! Derrick would be happy getting all of Emma's dolls! He still loves playing with her toys more than his own! I think we will buy him some tools or something "manly" for Christmas! Jon says a gun, but I don't think quite yet! :)

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!! The kids had a lot of fun! It was a very busy day! Emma couldn't wait to put her costume on and go "twick-tweeting"!! She got a little taste of what was to come on Friday night! The ward did a trunk or treat down at the church! On Tuesday we went to Jon's office and Emma got to trick-or-treat cube to cube! She got tons of candy just from there! Everyone was handing out hanfuls! Then we went to Grandma and Grandpa Trafzer's house. She went trick-or-treating up and down their street and got even more candy! As you can see from the picture she got way more candy than any 2 year old needs! So, mom and dad had been eating some to help her out! Derrick was our little toothless vampire! He hated holding still long enough for me to put his hairline and eyebrows on! And Emma was the cutest lady bug ever! She sat very still while I curled her hair in tiny ringlets! She thought it was great fun to sit in mommy's salon chair and get her hair done like my clients! She, of course, didn't want to take her costume off at the end of the night and has wanted to wear it everyday since!! It was a really fun day!

Mila and Emma

Andrea and Mila came over last night to keep me company while Jon is out of town! (FOR 5 DAYS!!!) We got the girls dressed in thier pink pajamas with pink bows in their hair and took some pictures! They sure love each other...and we love you Annie and Mila!!

Sleeping Beauty...

Today we went out for Grandma Trafzer's birthday so Emma didn't get a nap. Which, she only takes one sometimes now, but I make her have quiet time in her room for my own sanity!! Anyway, on the way home from the mall she fell asleep. It was about 4pm. I thought I would only let her sleep for about an hour so that she would go to sleep tonight. I went in at 5pm and woke her up and brought out to lay on the couch. I was feeding Derrick (who was being extremely noisy! And the tv was on!) and realized Emma was being very quiet! I looked over and sure enough, she had fallen asleep on the couch and slept for another 20 minutes there! She looked too peaceful for me to disturb her "beauty sleep"!!

Hillbilly Bubba

This one is for Grandma and Grandpa Clark, who bought this pacifier for Emma and we thought we should keep the tradition going! The picture speaks for itself!

I'm FABULOUS!!!

Here is Emma in all her "fabulousness"!! She automatically posed like this when I pulled out the camera! And here is Derrick after waking up from a nap with his crazy bed-head from rolling all over in his bed! I've started spiking the front of his hair and it looks so cute...he looks like a little man! You can see in these pictures that his nose looks a little yellowish-orange...I was starting to get worried, I knew that baby food could cause that but I thought maybe I was feeding him too much of something or not enough of something, but the doctor said it's normal! I don't remember that happening with Emma! I try to give him an orange vegetable and a green vegetable everyday, but I guess he'll just have a yellow nose for a while! Oh, well, I still think he's cute! :) I'm also including a picture of our fridge...notice the tie that Emma colored in nursery on Sunday...she was apparently so proud of it she hung it on the fridge herself!!

Is it really gone?!

Emma absolutely LOVES applesauce! (Or I should say "apple-aus!) She asks for it everyday, with every meal! I just thought this was so funny! I walked in the other day after giving her some and all I saw was her little tongue licking the container clean! She thinks it's great that Derrick gets to eat applesauce too and always asks him, "Apple-aus nummy, Bubba?" She then answers her own question and says "YES"!! And Derrick just laughs at her!

The Leaning Tower of Emma!

Emma's favorite toys are her blocks! I don't think a day goes by that she does not play with them! She was very proud of this tall tower that she built! I'm not sure how it was staying up! I thought this was a fitting picture to post of Derrick. He has recently become very fascinated with his feet! So, here he is showing off his foot! Things are going good! Both kids are well and happy!
