Last Sunday Emma lost her other top front tooth. She has been waiting almost 2 years for this to happen. (2 years ago is when she got her other top tooth pulled.) The dentist told her at her checkup in September that she would probably loose it by Christmas. She was highly disappointed when that didn't happen. I was trying to hold off as long as possible. It was sad to have her loose that tooth. It means she's growing up! Now she has a huge hole in her smile, but she does look pretty cute. She couldn't stop admiring her new smile in the mirror! Emma was worried when she woke up and realized the tooth fairy came, but forgot to leave her little pink treasure chest that her teeth go in. So, the tooth fairy had to come back the next night and leave it for her. :)

Emma's Ballet Demonstration
Yesterday was Emma's ballet demonstration. She is taking from Miss Robbin this year and we are loving it!! There was no actual "recital" but a demonstration of what they have learned this year. It was in a dance studio and I loved watching then go through what they do every week in class. (And not having to watch 2 hours of other kids dance!) Emma loves ballet and Jon even said he would like her to keep going with it. Love to get the stamp of approval from dad! :) Emma did a great job and gets to move up to the Formal Division next year. Her review was good and there are only a few things she needs to work on, but she has come a long way this year. Emma's costume was a little scary, but she loved it! I've never seen the movie, but there were a few "Black Swan" references! :) The tutu was cute, but the crown was a little out of control! But, we didn't pay $70 for a costume this year so I can't complain. (Sorry some of the pictures are blurry. The lighting was bad in the room and I had to zoom to get a good shot of Emma.) Yesterday was also a little bittersweet. It was Louise's birthday. I had Emma wear her earrings that were grandma's. As I was putting them on Emma she said, "Maybe grandma will be watching me dance today!". I hope she could because I know she would be really proud of her.

Peter Piper Pizza Preschool Party
Say that title 5 times fast! Derrick's last day of preschool was May 12. They celebrated at Peter Piper Pizza. I was a little sad because it meant my baby is now a kindergartner! He's growing up so fast! In less than 3 months I will have both kids in school all day. Well, maybe I won't be too sad! :) Derrick had fun playing games an eating pizza with his friends. He actually did a really good job with the basketball game. We really need to get him into sports. For all his tickets he won he picked out 2 small dinosaurs, but he was happy! We love Mrs. Amber and I'm sad we are done with preschool. She taught both of my kids so much!

Mother's Day
I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year. There is such a joy in being a mom that only moms understand. I love Emma and Derrick more than words could ever express and their love back is unconditional. On Mother's Day, Jon made me crepes for breakfast. When I came out to eat, the kids had decorated my chair at the table and there were tulips (my favorite) and a present on the table. The breakfast was delicious and and the perfume I got smells so good. I love the presents Emma and Derrick made at school. Derrick brought me a flower in a pot and a "MOM" magnet with his picture in it. Emma made a bouquet of flowers out of paper and filled out an "All About Mom" packet. My favorites were that I was 31" tall, I make $20 a day, my favorite sport is yoga and my hobby is napping! :) I sure love my silly kids!

Emma's Let's Play Music Recital
On May 3rd Emma had her end of the year recital for her Let's Play Music class. She has really enjoyed this class and I have had fun with it too. Emma loves to sing and I have noticed an improvement since she has been going to class. She was most excited to play the bells in the finale song "Do Re Mi". She had been practicing very hard and she did awesome! She kept right on beat and didn't miss a note. Jon had to miss the recital because he was in Baltimore for work. But we got it all on video. After the recital we went to get frozen yogurt with Emma's friends from class. Thanks to Jeni, Ron, Sarah and Grandma and Grandpa Trafzer for supporting Emma at her recital! I can't download the video on here because it's too long, but here are the pictures.

April Fun
Jon surprised the kids one weekend with a slip and slide. They couldn't wait to try it out! I was busy with clients all day so the kids went out and had fun with dad. He said they had a hard time getting the motion down, but they had fun anyway! There is also a picture of Derrick. I found him crashed out in Emma's room one day. He made himself a nice cozy bed on her floor and took a nap. No complaints from me that he still takes a nap on his own free will sometimes! And last is a silly picture of Emma. She puts on the craziest outfits sometimes!
