Derrick's Field Trip

Derrick had his first kindergarten field trip to Schnepf Farms in October. He was most excited about riding the bus which made me laugh because he rides the bus everyday to school! I was least excited about riding the bus, but I survived! The day was exhausting but the kids had so much fun. There were rides, games, a petting zoo and they each got to pick a pumpkin. The boys I was over did pretty good throughout the day but I did notice a huge difference in being a chaperone to a group of boys over a group of girls! Energy and dirtiness! As we were waiting in the long line to ride the train the boys just entertained themselves by playing in the dirt. And they never stopped running all day! I'm glad I was able to go with each each of my kids to experience their first field trips.

The 3 boys that kept me busy all day!

Derrick was even excited about a fake bus!

Boys will be boys!

October Silliness

What do you do on the first 70 degree day in Arizona? Pretend like it's 20 degrees of course! The kids were so relieved to have the weather cool off, they went outside to play in their full winter gear! It didn't last long before the layers came off, but it was fun to pretend to be cold for a bit!

Derrick is such a goofball and is always making us laugh with the funny things he says and does. He was grounded from all of his toys so he became very inventive in his play time. He came to show me his spider legs and arms made out of hangers!

I'm not sure what the kids were playing here but it cracked me up! They dress up and play interesting games all the time. I'm so thankful for children who play well together. They have their moments, but for the most part, they really are the best of friends.

Emma's Field Trip

In October Emma had her first 2nd grade field trip to The Halle Heart Center. I was a little hesitant hearing about it thinking it may not be 2nd grader geared, but it was actually a really fun field trip and the kids learned a lot and had a great time. They learned all about nutrition, keeping your heart healthy and the comparisons of different animal hearts.

Learning about how to shop for healthy foods

The kids had to race to see which team could place their food in it's correct food group the fastest

I can't remember which animal heart this was, but the kids got to pick it up to see how heavy it was

This was a game where the kids had to roll a ball and try and get it in the "artery". My poor uncoordinated Emma was the only one who missed!

Learning about healthy foods

The guide had the kids jump and run around to get their heart rate up so they could hear the difference in their resting heart rate

D-Backs Game

On September 21st we kept the kids out of school and took them to a D-Backs baseball game. Grandpa Trafzer provided the great tickets. It was Derrick's first game and Emma had only been as a baby. They LOVED it and I was so excited to have them like it so much. Jon and I haven't been to a game in years and I forgot how much fun it really is. The kids enjoyed all the fun games and good food. And bonus, the Diamondbacks won! It was a great game!

Emma's 7th Birthday

On August 19th Emma turned 7. I can't believe how fast she is growing! This was her off year for a party so she picked Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then got to open presents at home with Grandma and Grandpa Trafzer. I think her favorite gift was the Kids Just Dance Wii game from them. She cracks me up when she plays it! She also got a gift card from Grandma and Grandpa Clark to spend at Target. So after dinner we went there and picked out a new shirt and a cd. We sure love our little sweetheart and are so blessed to have her in our family.
