Emma's First Day of Kindergarten!!

Today was "THE BIG DAY"...the day I have been anticipating for years with worry and excitement! Emma is a big girl now, who rides the bus to Kindergarten! Last night I was very emotional. I cried a lot and got no sleep. I was looking at the clock every hour. My stomach was a mess of nerves, but I did make it through the morning with no tears! I set my alarm for 6:30 a.m. and woke Emma up at 6:40 a.m. She was so happy when I woke her up! She couldn't wait to go to school. We had her outfit all picked out with her special "Mila" flower for her hair. We walked to the bus stop around 7:40 and Emma got right on the bus and sat up front where the bus driver told her to sit. She didn't even look back. Derrick and I ran home to the car and drove to the school and got there just in time for Emma to get off the bus. She started walking the wrong way and there were no teachers to stop her, which I wasn't thrilled about. I hope she can find her way tomorrow. I pointed her in the right direction and she found her two friends from church. They all held hands and walked out to the playground together, it was so cute! Emma started playing and I started talking to other moms when I looked over and saw Emma talking to a playground aide, all worried. I walked over to her and she was upset because she couldn't find me. Then she started crying for her dad because he couldn't be there. I got her calmed down quickly so I that I wouldn't start crying too! Soon the bell rang and the teachers started lining up the kids. She waved and smiled for the camera and was off to class.
Derrick and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at Paradise Bakery with friends while Emma was at school. I was nervous again as the time approached for the bus to come. And then I was even more worried when the bus was 25 minutes late! But she made it and as soon as she got off the bus she ran into my arms and was so happy. She had a great day doing puzzles, listening to stories and her favorite...3 recesses! :) She asked if she got to go back to school tomorrow. I am so relieved that she had such a great Kindergarten experience. Her teacher Miss Hann is who I really wanted her to have and I think Emma will respond well to her and have a great year!

It's just the 2 of us now!

I think they missed each other!

I am so glad that she had some friends to walk in with, plus it makes a really cute picture! Hope they get the eating thing down this week, funny that they both had issues with lunch.

They look so small for us to be sending them off to school. I still feel that way about my 4. But, it looks like she had a great time. I'm so glad she get to have Ms. Hann, I just love her.

do you know how many germs are on the school bus? I cant believe you let her ride the pervert driven yellow germ mobile. She will never make it through school at this rate. so if your gonna drive to the school to check on her anyways, why not just take her?

First day of Kindergarden!! How very exciting!!! And the whole cousing thing is kind of weird! And, no, I don't use photo shop, I use Picasa, which is an app of Google & is free. It allows you to make collages, hence the multi-photo pics. Hope that helps!

As I recall Jami...you are one of those nasty school bus drivers! And I still let my daughter hang out with you!
Thanks Kimbra. I have picasa, I've just never played around with it as far as editing and creating goes.

She looks so adorable!!! I love her Mila flower.. And you did her hair so cute. Does she go all day?
When Charly took the bus last year it was like that. There are days that they are missing a driver & they show up half hr late or more.
Glad she liked school...

this is too funny.... I keep reading all these blogs about first day of kindergarten & how the moms have such a hard time. I remember my first day & that I cried... all the while I didn't know that it was quite possible my mom was crying too. :) She looks adorable!
