February 20th was a particularly cold day. That evening we were shopping at Walmart as a family. Jon had finished before me and took Emma and Derrick out to the truck. He came back in and told me in was snowing outside. I couldn't believe it. The kids were so excited! I quickly finished my shopping and headed out to the car with Grace, walking through snowy slush and falling snow. The news said it wasn't really snow (apparently it's called graupel) but it's as close to snow as we get here in Mesa, AZ! What a fun memory!
